Do you know that you can set a standard for how files are opened in your Teams workspace?
This setting is for the individual user of Teams: Change how documents open in Teams
HOW TO:

- Open Teams
- Click on your profile picture, or rather: the 3 dots next to it
- Go to Settings

- Select Files and links in the left side menu
- Change where you want the default open Word, PowerPoint, and Excel files to be. Your options are.
- Teams
- Desktop (the setting will only apply to the respective device you are using when changing the setting).
- Browser
- You can also change how to open links; either via default browser or Microsoft Edge (My recommendation is that Microsoft Edge IS the default browser).
- In the same menu page, you can set Teams to always ask where to save downloaded files by turning the toogle on.
