How does your calendar for the week look like? Lots of meetings planned? Do they all have an agenda and do you know why you are joining the meetings?
🗓️If they don’t have an agenda, and you are the organizer, update them with an agenda, that makes it easier for people to understand why they should join it, and what would be the outcome of the meeting.
☝️If someone else is the organizer, ask them to add an agenda, or even decline the invitation if it hasn’t got one.

And do block some time for yourself to do focused work, e.g. in the mornings. Remember, if you don’t control your calendar, someone else will. 😉
And, now you got yourself focused and calendar updated, how focused and on time are your meetings?
New feature for Teams meetings: Countdown timer
💡Keeping meetings focused and on time just got easier. Microsoft Teams now includes a built-in countdown timer. It is an intuitive tool designed to help meeting organizers.
⏲️The timer aids participants in managing time more effectively. Whether you’re running a daily stand-up, a customer workshop, or a strategic planning session, the timer is a versatile tool. Any participant can add it and set it for up to 100 minutes.
🎯Once activated, the timer appears in the meeting window for everyone, with simple controls to start, pause, stop, or extend the time. As the countdown progresses, the timer changes colour to visually signal how much time remains—helping speakers stay on point and discussions stay productive.
This feature is a great example of how Teams continues to evolve to support better meeting culture—one where time is respected, and outcomes are prioritised.
When is it available?
Rollout is planned to start July 2025
