24 days of collaboration celebrations – No. 1

Inspired by Tracy van der Schyff from her #Microsoft365challenge where she wrote 365 blogs in 365 days about Microsoft 365, and I wanting to challenge myself, as well as asking people what they actually want to learn more about, I decided to ask YOU what I could write about in my blog. Now, realizing the winter and holiday celebration season is soon upon us, and I won’t be able to do like Tracy, and that is not the goal either 😉 (there is only one ✨Tracy!✨), I start with challenging myself to write 24 blogs during December.

Ask me a question!

Have you got a question for me?

Thank you to those who have gave me their suggestions. If YOU would like to nominate a topic, please feel free to do so completing this form, or scan the QR-code added on this page.

💡The topics I’ll write about can be more or less anything related to my passion knowledge sharing and building skills and competencies through collaboration, communication and the wonderful world of Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Viva, or it can be about how to set up and run a community, about working in tech, or anything I know something about, or perhaps if you ask me a question I don’t know the answer to, I might know someone who knows, and in the process of answering you I will in any case learn!

To know that we know what we know, and to know that we do not know what we do not know, that is true knowledge

—Nicolaus Copernicus

✨Topic of today is Knowledge and Learning

and how our new digital tools can help us improve learning and increase knowledge.

I believe that the best way to build a better tomorrow for all of us🧡 is to increase knowledge, about everything. To learn how to use that knowledge, and how to continue learning and gaining more knowledge, skills and competencies for us to be prepared for tomorrow.

If I check the dictionary there are a few definitions about KNOWLEDGE and LEARNING:

  • The Merriam-Webster dictionary states about KNOWLEDGE:
1 Information, understanding, or skill that you get from experience or education
    //She has little/no/some knowledge of fashion/history/cooking
//He has devoted himself to the pursuit of knowledge
2 Awareness of something: the state of being aware of something
//Did you have any knowledge of her intentions?
//The decision was made without my knowledge [= I did not know about the decision]
If we check the same dictionary about LEARNING:
1 The activity or process of gaining knowledge or skill by studying, practicing, being taught, or experiencing something: the activity of someone who learns
//A computer program that makes learning fun
//Different methods of foreign language learning
//The first year of college was a learning experience
2 Knowledge or skill gained from learning:
//They were people of good education and considerable/great learning
//book learning [= knowledge gained from reading books]

I believe that learning and knowledge just as much is about asking questions, to challenge status quo, to look for new solutions, to innovate, to think thoughts that haven’t been thought before, and/or improve earlier thoughts and not the least; put the thoughts into action. All the knowledge in the world is nothing worth if you cannot use and share it, and it increases in worth if you use and share it wisely and kindly. And, knowledge is just like love, the more you share, the more you gain!❤️

Microsoft 356 and Microsoft Viva are platforms, tools and systems that can lift your whole organization’s learning and knowledge to another level.

We’ve got this – using it already!

You might already use Microsoft 365. Some companies are already using the full platform, others might just have discovering running meetings in Teams during the last year or so. Whether you have it all under control or is new to the Microsoft sphere, there are always new things to learn and explore.

Microsoft Learning Pathway

Microsoft Learning Pathway is a SharePoint Communication site template that you can add to your existing Microsoft 365 solution and use as a learning portal. Microsoft has integrated Microsoft 365 learning and support material to the Microsoft Learning Pathway as playlists and you can e.g. create a page for how you run meetings and add videos and learning material related to e.g. OneNote, Planner and Teams relevant for how you run meetings.

You need to have admin control to be able to add Microsoft Learning Pathway to your current Microsoft 365 tenant. If you do not have that right, ask your IT department to help you to add it, and you can get owner access and structure it yourself.

📚Read more about Microsoft Learning Pathway and the other cool SharePoint templates in the SharePoint Lookbook (scroll a bit down on the first page and click “Solutions” and you’ll find the Microsoft Learning Pathway information).

❗Make sure that you read the important information before you add it to your tenant. Plan ahead and prepare well ahead for how to set it up. It might take from one day to the next before it is available in your tenant.

The templates are free to use and add to your Microsoft 365 tenant.

Microsoft Viva Learning brings all learning material into one hub in Microsoft Teams, from different sources.

Microsoft Viva Learning

Microsoft Viva Learning brings all your learning modules and items into Microsoft Teams. Via the Teams Viva Learn page you can assign training material to yourself, manager can assign training material to his/her employees, and Learning admin can set up features training material, e.g. as par of a knowledge campaign in the organization. October is usually security month and during this period security training and awareness campaigns could be set as featured training.

🧲Microsoft Viva Learning brings the learning material from different sources.

When setting up Viva Learning some learning content comes as default, these are:

  • LinkedIn Learning select free content
  • Microsoft Learn
  • Microsoft 365 Training

In addition Viva Learning can be integrated with other LMS systems that you might already be using, as well as use Microsoft Learning Pathway as one of the sources. Whether you choose to install Microsoft Viva Learning today or not, I would highly recommend that you try Microsoft Learning Pathway as training portal.
